The Fastest Motherboard Yet…

A motherboard used to be something that everything else connected to through cable or that plugged into it (not including the north and south bridge of cause), that is until now at least.

Gigabyte has decided to make things a bit easier for those who want those SSD’s but either don’t have the SATA connection for it or just can bring themselves to buy one. The company has announced a motherboard with a (fairly small but still effective) SSD connected right onto it.

It hasn’t been confirmed if you can use it like a normal HDD where you put your data on it or whether or not it will be bootable (an obvious decision in my books) – which would be a big shame if it’s not cause a 20GB drive is big enough for most operating system and most of the applications that you would want (of cause not those serious games) to run and since it is a solid state disc, the extra speed will certainly never be complained about.

It would be great if someone decided to put a larger, say 64GB SSD onto a motherboard and make it fully bootable! Any extra storage that you would want would be for your files, and the SSD would be dedicated to your apps and OS meaning that you are always guaranteed the extra performance and the speed of an SSD!
