If you have received an email in the last week, containing pictures of South Africa’s first “iceberg” in Cape waters, try not to panic, global warming is not quite yet upon us here in South Africa!
Liqui Fruit has very cleverly sparked a lot of buzz with their Summer Meltdown campaign in the last week, by sending this email to inboxes across South Africa. What this email actually is, is an ingenious piece of viral marketing.
I did a quick search for this on Google South Africa and found that this piece of news is all over the net. In just one week! Many people were initially fooled by the email (thinking that it really was an iceberg – and I wouldn’t blame them if they did), until they received a second email, which very clearly dispelled any fears of an early global warming crisis in South Africa.
